ANPAD, in collaboration with the Phoenix Children’s Hospital metabolic team, invites all metabolic patients on a protein-restricted diet with medical formula, along with their immediate family members, to attend Camp Knot a Phe. This includes individuals with PKU and Allied Disorders, and PKU patients on Palynziq treatment are welcome!
Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to register early to secure your spot! This year there are only 140 spaces available.
Camp Knot a Phe is a family camp. Located on 40 acres just outside of Prescott, AZ in the beautiful, tall pines. What a great mountain getaway. Save the date for June 12-14, 2026

- WHAT TIME is check in? June 12th Friday at 3:00 pm ( early bird check in at 2:30pm ), Dinner is served at 5:30 pm, with field games following.
- WHAT ACTIVITIES? Fun camp activities for all ages! Campers 6 and up will enjoy activities like Archery, Arts & Crafts, Campfires, Rock Climbing, Pool time, Camp Dance, Zip Lining, High Ropes, Ping Pong, Volley ball, Hiking, and more. Campers under 5 years old will enjoy Arts & Crafts, Swings, Camp Dance, Games, Movie time and more. There will also be optional discovery groups and workshops.
- LODGING? Housing lodging is provided. All dorms areas have bunk beds. Each family has their own private rooms. Groups of rooms share a common living space and bathroom.
- MEALS? All low protein meals and snacks will be provided by a qualified chef and our very own dietitians, Melanie and Alyssa. Regular meals will also be provided.*
- FORMULA? All medical formulas must be supplied by the family. Dieticians and volunteers will be on-hand to assist with patient meal planning.
- * Parents/guardians of patients younger than 6 will be responsible for attending pre-meal planning sessions, assisting their child during meals.
- COST? In an effort to ensure the future of Camp Knot a Phe, there is a non-refundable application fee per family.
- WHERE DO I REGISTER? Camp applications will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis, so register early to guarantee your spot. A confirmation e-mail will be sent to let you know your spot at camp has been reserved. REGISTRATION WILL OPEN Feb 28, 2026
- FACILITY: Gathering areas to meet, play and hang out. The main dining room room sets up to 200 guest. Several enclosed meeting places for crafts and night time events. There are volley ball courts, gaga ball along with scheduled activities. Some of the activities include swimming, axe throwing, zip line, field games etc. There are activities suited for all ages.
- SAFETY? Qualified staff members will be on site to supervise meals and activities.
- TRANSPORTATION? Car pooling is encouraged.
